MANILA, Philippines – Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao confirmed that he is in discussions with rapper-turned-promoter Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, but would not disclose what they are talking about.

It was reported last week that 50 Cent has split with his best friend, unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., and is instead planning a “joint promotional venture” with Pacquiao.
“We met and we’re talking with each other,” Pacquiao said when asked about 50 Cent by The Boxing Channel.
“But I won’t tell you what we’re discussing now,” he added.
50 Cent had initially formed a promotional company, called The Money Team (TMT) Promotions, which he intended to run with Mayweather.
Rumors of a rift between him and Mayweather surfaced, however, and multiple reports last week said TMT Promotions has already closed shop without even putting up a single event.
50 Cent created social media buzz when he tweeted a picture of himself and Pacquiao from yesterday’s press conference announcing the fourth bout between Pacquiao and Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez.
“Big business moves,” the rapper tweeted.

Last week, RingTV reported that a meeting between 50 Cent, Pacquiao and Pacquiao’s advisor Michael Koncz was looming.
“I’ve had several conversations and meetings with 50,” Koncz told RingTV last September 13. “They approached us with an idea of forming a joint promotional company. I’ve discussed that with Manny, Manny is excited about it.”
“We have MP Promotions, they have TMT Promotions. I think that it brings a different flavor with the connections that 50 Cent has in the entertainment industry, and with Manny’s influence with the boxers in the sport,” he added.
“Bringing that together, I think, is good for boxing.”
It was initially hoped that 50 Cent’s entry into boxing will help pave the way for a mega-fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.
When asked if Mayweather will be welcome to join Pacquiao and 50 Cent’s promotional venture, Koncz said, “The door is always going to be open for Floyd to be part of this group.”
“That’s up to Floyd. If Floyd wants to be part of it, Manny’s excited about Floyd possibly joining it,” he said.
